Here is my new moon pic, I'm very surprised how this one turned out with the stacked teleconverters

C&C always welcome

Nope, the sky's the limit - there's someone on here who's got up to around 1600mm. Though of course, you lose masses of light, and autofocus, so you need to focus manually through a very dim viewfinder. However, with all that, he's got some amazing images.

I don't know how many you can stack, I would never do this on something that I couldn't take time to focus on.

The hardest part was wanting to take the shot but having to wait for all vibrations to cease.

Patience is not one of my virtues.

is it ok to hate you for posting this image?? :D J/K, its a great shot. I set up my tripod on my front steps with the canon 400 f/5.6L and sigma 2x attached to my xt. I had set up initial settings of around f/8@1/160 and it was just way way to dark. Got down to i think f/8@1/25 just to get a decently lit shot with tungsten w/b to get the most correct color. But when i got home and uploaded and noticed i had camera shake on it

Was a great moon last nigh too. I was just a lil surprised at how fast at night it dispappears. I usually see it above the horizon around 2pm and its still nicely visible in blue skies till about 8pm. Then it starts to get lit up more at night. By 10 pm its almost at 12 o'clock in the sky, by midnight it was gone. Very strange.

That's one of the great things about living in San Diego, very rarely do clouds obscure the sky.

I see the moon and stars every night.
