Hello

My name is Marcin and i live in Sweden, and i have a problem.

I just bought my camera today and it displayed the same symptoms that you decribed in the threads below.

The buttons on the back of the camera dont work.

I am going to japan on monday and i nead my camera upp an running.

Some of you suggest tat it might be a firmware problem
so i am willing to try to uppload new firmware to the camera.

The problem is that i cant get hold of the firmware software from canon, because my camera already has the latest firmware installed.

So if you have installed the latest firmware on your G2 then could you please mail me the whole contents of the G2_Firmuppdate folder so i can try to get my camera working?!?!?

The firmware you have tried to download is a firmware update. It won't work because you have to have control over the "menu". (I was able to download the software by manipulating serial numbers until I hit on a set of serial numbers which did not have the latest firmware - but because the buttons did not work, I could not go to the "firmware update" button). I had a similar problem and returned it to Canon and they repaired it (I hope they did). So, I hate to say it, but I believe you will have to return it for repair. (see my post under "Stuck Control"
