That is an amazing shot. I would love to see a bear in 'the wild'.
Thanks for sharing, I would be getting this printed and put up on the wall.

Awesome picture, what is the story behind it? Were you just out walking or sitting in a blind somewhere? That is amazingly close for wildlife.

Awesome! I love how it seems to be peaking around the corner. I hope that wasn't with the 50mm...

Thanks everyone. There were actually 2 grizzlies, but one had just run out of sight to the right of the one in the pic.

I was shooting from an old logging road (had a vehicle to jump in if things went bad). I was actually out looking for Mourning Doves with a birding friend who had sworn he saw one the previous day (not a big deal to me, but apparently we were way outside their normal range so it was a big deal to him) when these 2 sub-adult grizzlies ran across the road and up into the forest. I only got off this one shot when they paused to look back at us, before they scampered off.

I did find the doves too, but they weren't the highlight of the day.

I agreed with all the comments above, truly stunning shot. I feel really pleased when I take a nice shot of deer in the wild, so I can only imangine how your feeling after taking this shot.

Congrats.

I think I would have thrown all my Mourning Dove pics away. That small grizzly takes first prize!

I would have been too busy high-tailing it in the opposite direction to take the shot ... so I congratulate you! Nice shot!
