Can only say I have both a 105mm EX macro lens and an MPE-65- because the minimum magnification is 1:1 with the MPE-65 you just can't fit many flowers/bugs in the view finder ie anything bigger than 22.5mm length for a 1.6 crop DSLR, so it is a specialist macro lens that starts where the normal macro lenses finish (ie 1:1). It can also take some getting used to if you are not used to macrophotgraphy. http://www.flickr.com/photos/lordv/
