Well, now that we have the equivalent (I think?) of USM in Lightroom, what are your thoughts on it?
What are you finding for some generic optimal settings?

As someone who left sharpening at the default setting in both RSP and LR 1.0 and never had an issue, I'm keen to know if I can just leave it as is .... or do I have to tweak it for every image... adding to my workflow time. I will likely incorporate some kind of default though to use during Import with my other settings. Mike, The Keeper of the Archive

Although I believe I read somewhere that the sharpening in Lr is more of a capture sharpening than and output sharpeneing. Has anyone heard anything different? How is it applied during conversion? First or last? Before or after resizing? Mike, The Keeper of the Archive

That said, many people will use it as a one-stop-shop now it has much greater control, and I do the same in many cases (running into Photoshop usually only for huge images, problem images, or really special images). For instance the LR sharpening amount only goes up to 150 and the radius cannot go below 0.5. Anke

I assume that the sharpening required for web output would be different than for a 20x30 print (correct?). But what is the purpose of sharpening during capture if it needs to be re-sharpened for output and how would it be different? Thanks for your help, hope this wasn't too dumb of a question. Not a dumb quetion at all. Mike, The Keeper of the Archive
