Congratulations 1080iaddict!!

I'm sitting here patiently *tap tap tap tap tap* (since 6am) waiting since mine says: OUT FOR DELIVERY!

I know exactly how you feel, I was there just two weeks ago and had more money then. :)

I Email'd Canon.
I have been intrested in getting a 1dmk3 my main intrest is bird's in
flight such as gease - duck's - dove's .
Over the last couple of weeks there have been quite a few report's by
photographer's that know what there doing and indeed own the 1dmk2
-Saying the AF is not as good.
i have the 1dmk2 and 5d plus many L lenses but do not want to buy
another camera ( 1dmk3 )if it is not ready yet owing to an AF problem as
that would be my main reason for getting it.
To my question - does the 1dmk3 have a problem or is it safe to buy it
??
and if so when will it be available in the UK.
regards
Rob.
there answer
Dear Rob:

Thank you for contacting Canon USA product support. We value you as a
Canon customer and appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

There are not any problems with the autofocus with the EOS 1D Mark III.
Although we here in the USA don't know when the camera will be available
un the UK Canon UK should be able to assist you. You can reach them at
www.canon.co.uk (external link) .
anyone know Canon's email address in the UK i carn't find it :(

I have to say that I can finally share in the excitement. I now have my UPS next day air tracking number from B&H and plugged that sucka into the UPS site and it shows up as an Origin Scan - so its in the UPS system for tomorrow delivery. Unfortunantly, here in Baltimore we have no mountain goats. This will be a problem. But somehow I will find a solution.

Haven't shared in this thread, but I got one by calling a local camera shop every day for a week. One day they said they had gotten one, and I went and got it.

Question: For those who have it and have Lightroom, are you having any trouble importing RAW files? I am.

I believe there was some info on this back in thes thread or at least on this forum. I know the upgrade is available for CS3 because I'm using it, but I seem to recall that it was not yet available for Lightroom.

BREAKING NEWS (New York): Sources at B&H Photo in New York inform this poster that his MIII is being shipped today for overnight delivery. When asked to comment, 1080iAddict states he "is pleased that this %$#*&^ing camera is finally on its way to my office considering my %$^#*& American Express card was already charged." Asked whether he has any animosity toward B&H, 1080iAddict responded "not at all. The MIII is in high demand, and considering the AF can't track BIF it will be a paperweight anyway." 1080iAddict next says "he was kidding so relax. I am PSYCHED. FINALLY!!!!"

Glad you were finally able to join the club. You'll love it.

I'm happy for you. As my dearly departed mom would tell you: You should use it in good health. Good for you.

On another note, I am sure you knew full well that B&H, while admittedly different than for example Adorama, states right up front that your credit card will be charged when the order is placed.
