Calumet now says on thier site ships on order.

I just noticed that - does that mean that they're in stock? Anyone call?

EDIT: If you go through the ordering process (so excited that I decided I'd give it a try), it says right at the last step "expected from vendor" - whatever that means. Maybe too good to be true...

For $999.00,.. that would be spent elsewhere fro sure, especially with 8GB CF cards so affordable.

But you could take pictures of an event and have a slideshow going of the pictures you are currently taking. I thought that would be a nice touch for weddings, etc.

If I had the money I would actually consider it along with a USB GPS. Then the raw files would be tagged with the GPS position. Which I think is much more convenient that tagging the jpegs when at home.

Yes, that part would certainly be useful in many cases.

Got mine too, one battery is 1/3 charged and I;m tweeking CF settings etc..
It's lighter than I remembered, though as soon as the 135mm went on the difference compared to MkII was less noticeable..

10FPS is hilariously fast!
AF is silly fast!
It took me a while (no manual reading yet) to figure out how to get the shutter release to not AF...

So now it's essentially set up like my MkII, but I'm stuck at work.

One question for those of you who've got it (and used to own the MKIIN)....do you think it's shutter is LOUDER? (I used to own the MKIIN but have used the 5D for the last 8 mo. or so) and the new MKIII (not in it's silent mode) seems much louder. (I don't mind...this is just a "what do you think or is it just me?" question.)
