Just wondering where you guys send your prints? I normally used Staples online service (printed at a Kodak lab, not on their copiers) but they cancelled the service.

Looking at using Bell Arte here in Hamilton because I get a discount from them ($0.23 instead of $0.43), what do you guys/gals use?

London Drugs does anything for me bigger than 8x10. It's a brand new lab local to me. Lots of shiny toys in the print shop that work well.

Poster 24x36 on glossy and nicely packaged for $30.

At the local camera shop/printing shop where I bought all my gear.

Got to know the manager quite well, and he's shown me through the print shop, and has given me advice on preparing my images.

For anything up to 8 1/2 x 11, the printer is sitting about one metre from me.

I am a ardent fan of staying with pro lab services. I have never had consistently good results from the discount type of service providers, Walmart, Costco, et all. If I have a rush job for anything 8X10 or less I will print them myself.

I have used http://www.provisiaphoto.com/en/welcome.html (external link)this Montreal la (external link)b (external link). The quality has been very good. Camera Canada Pro Lab (external link) does a good job and utilizes the Kodak Proshots system. I am currently using Technicare (external link) in Calgary. I know they have other locations across the country but not sure if there is one close to you. They use the ROES system which is pretty dynamic and easy to use. I live about 2.5 hours from them and if I upload by noon I have it by courier the next morning, even on what I would call large orders. There is some more additional labs in the Ace Indexes (external link).

There are literally 100's of options available across the country. If you have to have something that you can personally visit then you might be better served by using the yellow pages to do your search. I've been using labs that are not in my city for years and don't have issues. If there ever has been a need to reprint something they do it without having the first one returned. This is part of the customer service which is very important to me.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

The closest "lab" to me is downtown. 40 minutes in our non freeway stupid city. And they have the same setup as my local "discount" lab. Oh and downtown is twice the price.

The photo place NEXT door to London Drugs has antiquated equipment that is automated. They claim to be a lab but I just can't take my business to them.

A 9.9 print compared to a 10 print for ease of access and price is fine by me. SSIM caters to a different crowd than me. I'd like to have an affordable lab near me!

edit - you're in Hamilton and looking for 4x6 printing? London Drugs is no good to you - they aren't in Ont. and if you are just doing 4x6 I'd just get the local lab to print them. Just make sure they have modern equipment.

I didn't find the London Drug prints to be matching my screen very well. It comes out with a tint of green and too dark. I've emailed them about any available printer profiles to use but no reply. I don't have a Costco card either, but they do have printer profiles available.

Cosworth and West Beach, have you not tried ABC Photocolour on W 4th and Fir? Their prices are no where nearly as ridiculous as The Lab, and their staff are very easy to work with as well.

London Drugs is decent, but definitely not as good as ABC.

See it's w4th and Fir. Nearly 2 hours drive (there and back) at business hours. Not practical for me.

Westbeach, you need to switch to a newer LD it appears. My colour correction is perfect from the New West LD. I give them 1998Adobe - 200mb tiffs all the time with no problem.

I get my 4x6's done at Costco. .18 per print is hard to beat. Bigger ones or special things i've been going to Blacks...

I print 4x6 myself on a pixma 5300 - but they are for myself. If they were prints to be sold to clients - lab.
