Roy - do you know anyone named David Griffiths? Just curious. He lives in Hertfordshire. Bit of an ass on the topic of asses. LOL. I'm married to a Brit, so I'm used to a bit of dry humor. I can dish it out too, lol.

White with a red sun (in this case a red stripe) are the Japanese racing colours :p

e.g. GB - BRG, Italy - Red, Germany - Silver, France - blue...etc ;)

Time to end this thread that's lacking PC-ness...

No I don't know anyone named David Griffiths and if, as you say, he is a bit of an ass, perhaps it's just as well! As to your marrying a Brit - all I can say is that I admire your taste:D

Excuse my being obtuse, but why does this lack PC?

What wasn't PC about "White with a red sun"? it's just the national racing colours of Japan. I was just referring to the fact that Canon's L lenses follow a similar colour scheme being from Japan and all :)

Well, if you were in here yesterday, there was a post that was worse that that. While I know there's no ill intent, I'm just telling you I AM JAPANESE, and I don't find it humorous.

Therefore it must not be PC.

Let's just leave the stereotyping out of all this...
(Like misunderstanding English, etc...again if you were here yesterday, you would know what I meant by this...)

WTF. This thread is full of people that need to chill out.

Stereotyping? I see none of that here. I see country pride in racing colours. If you're genetic coutry of origin chooses a certain colour for race vehicle livery and you don't want to be asociated with peopel that recognise and CELEBRATE the diversity of racing heritage worldwide, then you might find a little piece of the world has died.

I am genetically from the UK - anyone talking about BRG certainly doesn't offend me.

Your point I do not see. I''ve read your response a couple times and still can't see what was said in another thread has any bearing on a country's racing colours.

I'm sorry Niksan, but in Colin's defence, I really cannot for the life of me see anything in his comments that could cause offence to anyone. In his same post, he points out that GB=BRG. That is a plain statement of fact (BRG=British Racing Green) and I, as an ENGLISHMAN, could not possibly be offended by it. It's nothing to do with stereotyping anyone.

I've just realised - I am agreeing with Cosworth:lol:

Fair enough, i'm honestly sorry if it caused offence mate but I had no idea relating the colour of your racing cars to a lens would do so, in my defense i'm English and everything is funny to me :p. You must be even more passionate than us Brits about your motoring heritage hehe ;)

I didn't take particular offense to your post...but there was one from yesterday that referred to "my people" as "J*P", and misunderstaing English, etc... That post is now gone.

Now I am sure it wasn't meant to insult, however as you know, that term was used in a nasty way back when the U.S. was at war with Japan. Mixing race with humor is always a dangerous thing...

So even though it wasn't used in that context, it just triggers certain feelings in me. (Not that I was even alive back then...)

I guess I was a little over-sensitive b/c of that other post...I clearly see the context in which it was used (race car colors)...and the fact that it was never meant to offend.

Sorry for being a tad too sensitive...

Chill pill taken...;)
