Never done one of these before, wanted to see if it would work. This is from 2 handheld shots so it doesn't all line up correctly. Does anyone know how to make the file smaller without losing all the detail?

It works. Very nice. Although not to good to comment the quality.
But I like this idea to share some pictures (sequences) on my web-site.
Thanks for sharing!

In addition to using a tripod, you'll also want to set the camera to manual exposure so there isn't difference in lighting from one shot to the other. The meter changed just because of her positioning and their is a discernible difference in the exposures.

I don't think it's possible with photos. either you can have good quality or small file size. gifs are normally terrible for images that have lots of detail. but unfortunately jpg format doesn't allow animation.

if you only want a two frame animation you could consider using jpgs and have a mouse-over action to change to the second pic, but of course it wouldn't be automatic.
