After some soul-searching I bit the bullet this week and went for 5D. The fate of my 350D/Sigma 10-20 has yet to be decided. My other 2 lenses are Canon 24-104 IS USM and Sigma 70-300 APO. Weather not very cooperative at the moment, but initial test shots look promising.
Hope to post some samples when I have something worthwhile.
I am impressed with the build and the way it handles.

Nice buy, weather here is doing the same so I have alot of indoor, low light photos. Which is what the 5D is best at handling.

Congrats:d

Congrats, Pixels! In your situation, I will keep the 350D as a back up body, and sell both the Sigmas in favor of a 70-200 f/2.8 IS or a 16-35 f/2.8.

Congratulations on getting what is possibly Canon's best. Ever.

I don't say this lightly. I have (and like) a 1DMk2. Used to be a 1D classic owner. Shot the Mk3 in person at PMA-AU 2007. I know what their 1-series is capable of. I'm probably the only person who has actually run into things that the 5D can do, and the 1-series doesn't do as well. If I was GIVEN a 1DsMk2, I'd sell it and buy another 5D and some nice glass... that is how highly I think of the 5D. It is still the mainstay of my system.

The 24-105 is a match made in heaven for the 5D. Wouldn't shoot mine any other way.

That's quite an accolade for the 5D! And well deserved I am sure. Your sentiments are echoed, in other words, by most other owners I have come across on the web, so it's an addictive camera, and obviously a big hit for Canon, without any competition.
Glad to have your endorsement on the 24-105L 's suitability.
Eugene

Yes that gives me some food for thought. I want IS for the longer end, so will mull over the options towards end of year.
