Holy kapow Batman the Riddler has made the Mayors offices invisible

Just goes to show how a modern office building is put together.

An excellent industrial 'study' well seen and photographed.

It is so weird walking past it.

It is certainly interesting. usually, to demolish/drop a building in the square mile City of London they don't use explosives or anything like that. They basically bring in cranes. bulldozers and demolishing machines that take a building apart bit by bit.

Because this one is so close to so many important buildings, The Lloyds Building, The Swiss Re building, Lloyds of London who are right next door, across the street, have probably insured this demolition

Looks more like a major remodelling job than demolition, if that surely they would have taken it down from the top. Those upper floors look perfectly intact.

You might be right. I assumed they are dropping it bit by bit because of the location of graded buildings and because the interior looks so bad on the remaining floors and quite a few of the windows are broken. An M&S was at the bottom of this building and seeing as they have a brand spanking new building Fenchurch Street, they don't need it anymore.

A case of watch this space

I'm just hoping that the area doesn't experience seismic events and one isn't imminent, or this baby is going down.

Perhaps they are building it from the top down?

Hhahaha, i looked at that and thought either:

1. engineers were "on" something and somehow it got approved and still standing...
2. they know your meant to built walls before ceiling right :O

I reckon the builders/breakers have gone on strike, not seen anyone on the site for a few days. They probably realised somethings not right when they stood back and looked at their work

Yeah it does look very unstable doesn't it. The cordoned area isn't further than the distance the building can topple either!
