I just sold and shipped out my 28-105, which was my first ever *upgrade* lens. I was happy that it sold as the money would help fund my next lens. However, I was a little sad last night as I got it ready to ship out. I opened its box and found the original bubble wrap and as I put it back in and noted its still-pristine condition, I remebered when I was doing the same steps except in reverse order when I received it six months ago.

Anyone else ever get sentimental over a lens?

Yup, two of them. My first 100-400L IS, because it was not only my first L, but my first lens. Second, my first 24-70L, which resides on Woolburr's bag. I miss that thing.

I'll gladly make you a deal on it...but since it has become such a hot commodity...the price will be premium....just like the lens itself.:D

I could never bring myself round to selling my 28-105 USM, It's such a great little lens - It now resides on my EOS30 film body, although it does tend to act as a large body cap :-)
I have sold lots of old Nikon lenses when I swapped over to Canon digital about two and a half years ago and regretted selling some of them, I've since started using my F100 again and had to replace some of the lenses I sold!
Not exactly sentimental, but just p*ssed *ff that I had to spend more money on the same items twice :-)

Yeah... I regret selling my 70-200 f/2.8. I keep wishing my 100-400 was f/2.8, womderful lens as it is, I just wish it were faster.

A 400mm f/2.8 is a big, heavy lens. 100-400mm f/2.8 would be some lens to use!
