wait for it...

wait for it...

I think we should form a sub-section of POTN where we all promise faithfully not to use any of the words cited in this thread!

I know that I am digging this thread back out of the closet, but the one word that really seems to be bugging me is "capture", as in "nice capture". I can see maybe saying it when you are shooting a snake in mid-strike, or a bird flying, or a wild animal that has stumbled into your view, or something that you actually have to capture the specific time, but really, do we need to use"nice capture" on a model or a landscape shot. "Love it, nice capture"; "Great capture"; blah blah blah...:)

I would have thought TF, as in Title Fairy, as in being new and asking for a different title.

I agree David - why not 'picture' 'photo' or 'shot'?

This seems to be a matter of nationality. Over here, the modern tendency is not to put full stops (what you call periods) after initial letters. For instance, we refer to the UK and the USA, whereas you would write U.K and U.S.A - so pp is perfectly correct. In any case wouldn't you say pp and p.p. in exactly the same way?

Finally, we don't use the expression as you do, so it's not a problem:D

Actually no we dont put "stops" in the USA all the time. The way you say something and write something is different....as we already know....and if someone has to say "pp" as opposed to edit or photoshop....thats almost like saying "lol" instead of actually laughing...which I have heard and is lame as hell.:p
