Tried that and it didn't work. I still can't decide between a 50/1.8 and 50/1.4.

Then you slept through class, or otherwise didn't pay attention.

Neither the EF 50mm f/1.4 USM or the EF 50mm f/1.8 II are L lenses. The 1.8 has faster and more accurate autofocus, and notably less spherical aberration. However, both are excellent lenses for their respective prices.

However, the TRUE standard is the EF 50mm f/1.2L USM.

Given a suitable budget (provided, in theory, by the second mortgage), there is no choice.

Nah! The most overused word on a Canon forum is "Noink," as though there was something inherently wrong with the word "Nikon." There isn't. And neither is there anything inherently wrong with their cameras.

However, the Nikon vs. Canon argument is inherently wrong, and insoluble. It is simply the camera equivalent of a Ford vs. Chevy or Mac vs. PC argument.

Such arguments are based upon faith, i.e., unprovable beliefs, on the parts of their adherents (both sides). This, to me, places them in the category of religious arguments. Since religious discussions are forbidden here....

Well, you get my drift.

Nah, Ford vs Chevy is a mute point as they both suck. Canon has proven time and time again ISO levels are better till now. Mac vs PC is based on use more than anything but fanboys just think theirs is the best.

It's quite simple really prove one side or another, the thing is it can only happen amongst intelligent mature people.

:D

I'd love to, often! But I don't know where they hide, and it's just not worth the effort to track them down.
