I shoot in raw in AdobeRGB color space (does it even affect Raw conversion?) because theoretically it's wider color space than sRGB. Next step is conversion in LR and export to sRGB jpgs since this color space again theoretically is better for web. Resulting jpgs look little different in LR than in my system jpg browser..even more diff. in online proofing software and web browser does it's own conversion again ... so i have learned to desaturate yellows and reds a little in LR to finally get satisfactory results with online proofs. It all takes to long with running back and forth between windows to compare color rendering . Please advise what to do to make my workflow more efficient. Right now it's one big nightmare.

Do you work on a calibrated monitor is the first thing that comes to my mind?

Yeah I do. But even if i didn't that's not the issue since my main problem is inconsistency between different software.

I don't use LR but when you are saving a file to .jpg, does it have an option checked by default to save with the ICC profile? Saving files with the ICC profile can cause issues like the ones you are experiencing. Some programs can read and honor the profile correctly. Some programs can read the profile, but render it incorrectly. Some programs just ignore the profile and render in whatever their default space happens to be (usually the more common sRGB, but some may use Adobe RGB) within the correct monitor profile. Some really poorly written programs may actually read the ICC profile and use it to override the monitor's display profile. Anyway, saving files with the ICC profile embedded can cause some issues and if LR offers that in the save options, try disabling it.

Hmm, okay. I thought LR might since that is the default behavior in Photoshop.

when you export jpegs from Lightroom, it asks you what color space you want to be attached to the photo... personally, the only colors i worry about is what i see in Lightroom and Photoshop... i've tried to color correct for programs that are not color aware or renders the profile incorrectly, but it is too time consuming and it's rather pointless...
