De-fishing software

I was recently looking at Popular Photography's website and they listed some of their favorite products. One of them was a de-fishing software program from Image Trends called Fisheye-Hemi plug-in for PhotoShop. Since I have a Peleng 8mm lens, I was curious to see how the software worked. I downloaded the trial version and was so impressed with it's simple one-click results that I purchased it after a couple of test shots. Honestly, I have no affiliation with the company. I just wanted to let my fellow POTN'ers know about a product that works very well for about $30.

That latter image isn't completely defished - lines that should be straight are not straight. In fact, I personally find the 'after' image visually bothersome as it's neither fisheye nor rectilinear. Maybe the problem is your 'one click' conversion - maybe you need to tune some sliders or something. Maybe the program is only designed to provide a partially defished result (after all, full defishing leaves you with a very oddly shaped image) - it is called Fisheye-Hemi after all.

I don't have a fisheye lens, but if I did, I'd use PTLens (Windows only), which I already own, to defish images.
