So here is my problem, I have a ten year old negative that was stored in a paper sleeve designed for reprint orders. After being out in my shed for years and in the heat and cold as its not climate controlled, it has gotten suck to the sleeve. It is only stuck on one side, I assume the emulsion side. If it matters its a C-41 color negative.
I know nothing about the developing process but figured there is a rinse cycle to it. Can I just soak this in water and it should free it. Will the emulsion wash off with extended soaking. Is there anything to save this negative? When I tried to gently pull it off on the oposite end of the negative I want to save(4 neg strip, I only care about one) there is now paper fibers stuck to the neg. Any help would be appreciated.
