Some fun with high-speed macro - water faucet

Here's a few photos I took using macro and a fast shutter speed at the bathroom sink. Any suggestions on what else I can freeze (that would look different than how we view it) for a cool photo effect?

Here it is coming out about half of the normal flow rate (probably around 1 to 1.5 gpm):

#3 must've been just before you dropped the camera in the sink.

Those are pretty cool shots Paul. The first two really do look like ice. Thanks for sharing those with us. I have never seen that done before.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. I would have shot myself if I dropped the camera in the sink! And I guess we do have hard water in Maryland, thath or it's time to clean the bathroom.

Yep.. I've spent a day or so shooting my kitchen faucet.. LOL..

Good shots..

Try set the tap to just a trickle and try zoom in on the little droplets.. or.. Put a full glass of water in the sink and drop coins in it and try capture the splash..

Nice shot. I also agree to slow down the water flow. Here is a shot I took a few months ago and also posted to these forums. Should have cleaned the faucet first

LoneWolf, your camera setting's look right on based on your couple of photo's. Just turn your faucet to make the water slowly drip out and just keep snapping away. Your bound to get a couple of good ones.
