And why would you pick them?

I see so much creativity in composition here that I am curious, if you got your wish, who would you most want to take pictures of and why.

Tom Waits.

I'd pick him because he is so creative, has a very interesting face and expressions - would be many opportunities to capture different facets of him - either as a singer or playing piano, he wears interesting clothes and the opportunity to photograph him is rare. Also his music is so damned good, covers so many styles and is interesting... and yes THAT VOICE!

Dwarfmcdougal you need to realise that Tom Waits is the man and would chew up and spit out the whole of Interpol without raising a sweat. And that's not saying anything bad about Interpol but they are lightweights when you put them up against someone of Tom Waits stature.

I just realize that I didn't answer my own question. Yikes.

I would have to say that I wish to photograph Prince one day. He is unbelievably talented, wonderfully expressive, has an amazing sense of stagecraft and always has a highly energetic band with him. If I had the chance, I feel that I would be purchasing a whole lotta memory cards and new glass.

Mine is a toss up between him, Bleeding Through, and the Blood Brothers.

Conor just becase I love his music, Bleeding Through and the Blood Brothers for the same reason but their live shows are much much more dynamic and wild

nick cave. i'd love to have the fire and brimstone raining down over me.

also, i'd love to shoot Sunn O))) if they were playing in a church; saw some photos from a norweigan gig which looked fantastic.

lastly, a dream of mine almost came true last year, but some union snafu killed my chances to shoot john zorn's masada (string trio, quartet, and electric octet!). still makes me sad. unbelievable show, though.

Shooting

melissa. Conor Oberst. Hands down

Shooting

303villian the Blood Brothers.

Shot

Conor and Interpol i am REALLY looking forward to connor is this friday, interpol is the 20th of august. The blood brothers was one of the hardest concerts i ever shot. They move around like crazy and the pit there was tiny with appaling lighting. i had to under expose so so much just to get them still and even that diddnt work very well.

If i could shoot anyone right now, it would be fall out boy. Not because i like their music, i dont, atall. But i respect the fact that they are very good performers, very lively and 'jumpy' and im sure such hyper stage antics would make some good photos.

x

Im pretty jealous, I admit. Haha. THat sucks about the blood brothers. The last place here they played had a decent sized pit and good(not great) lighting. A friend of mine shot them and his results were fantastic. It made me sad.

Good luck with your other 2 shoots

Eric Clapton, because i love his music. I've also been to one of his concerts and love the energy and feeling of his stage performances.

"Gwen Stefani" or "Prince"... cause the originality in song and music, plus the great choreography/dance acts, is eye candy...

Of course, McCartney, The Stones, Clapton, Joel, John, all would be awesome... I bet I missed a dozen others of my very favorites too...

I'd give my left nut to shoot KISS. Come on - KISS people! I'd blow 4gb just on The Demon.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
Full frame and some primes.
