vibrance v saturation: what is the difference? In reference to the develop setting in LR. IT appears they do somewhat similar changes. Curious to know what the technical difference and what changes to the pic LR is doing with these adjustments.

thanks,!!!

Supposedly Vibrance does not affect the skin tones like saturation does. I find this to be quite true in my experience using it.

Vibrance is non-linear, saturation is linear. Vibrance has a greater effect on values that don't have much saturation to start with. Think of it like saturation but with a mask based on existing saturation.

Watch the histogram change as you move the sliders on both and you will see the difference. Vibrance is a tool brought in from RSE/RSP (I remember it had a different name but I can't remember what!)

It was called "Vibrance" - under the Color tab.

I miss Rawshooter - I'll bet had it continued without Adobe's intervention, we'd have an even better app right now - without a $300 price tag.

I AGREE 100%.

I'm still using Rawshooter Pro and hate that I'm going to have to give it up as different bodies will no longer be supported! I've got lightroom and it takes me at least 3 times longer to work up images.

Have to agree, I used RSP, but sine Adobe gave me Lightroom for free, I won't complain, too much.
