Man....how close were you? Incredible detail...nice, almost macro-like definition. Good work.

Wow-about as close- up a close- up as you can get! Very nice, I like the second one for some reason.

Man, I love in that first one how you captured the 'double' catchlights, in the pupil and in the crease at the edge of the eyelid. Amazing!

Spot on Mark, Need to be patient and sit for quite some time to let the birds get used to the surroundings.;)

I have taken shots of these small garden birds with both my 300mm F/2.8L IS and my 500mm F.4L IS.

Both do a great job but as always to get this quality you need a steady hand with no camera shake.:)

Really appreciatte all the comments guy's..:D

Got this Woodpecker doing the same..:cool:
