my very first photo op for taking sports shots.. There was a 10KM obstacle course "mud run" at Camp Pendleton in California.. I a friend was kind enough to let me use his L Series 400mm..

Taken with a Rebel Digital.. Mostly at about 300mm f/4.5, ISO 400, Shutter 1/800 (I Think)

What do you think ?? first two are a bit cropped last one is a full frame..

I love the last one. Looks like Tom Cruise getting down and dirty.

Down and dirty! Do you have any where you pulled back so we can see the whole area they were going through?

Yeah, These are No award winning shots, but here are 2 more.. not that much pulled back, but you'll get the idea.. This is ony 1 of the obstacles through a 10KM course !

Before the event started, a Marine fishing for rocks and things that might "hurt" the contestants..

Thanks for posting those two new shots. I would like to look at a whole series sometime. Nice work, great detail.

#3 with the droplets flying through the air is fantastic! Reminds me of a trail-running friend who claimed his favourite race food & drink were "dirt" and "creek water".
