I am building a new PC to primarily run Photoshop CS2, but also as an "in case" I ever want to get back into gaming.

On my second try to the computer builders, here is the system that I am having built:

Gigabyte P35DS3R motherboard
Intel E6320 CPU
2 GB DDR2 800mhz RAM
(3) 250 GB Western Digital HDs
Nvidia 8600GTS 256 MB vidoe card
Windows XP

The hard drives are going to be "striped" on a RIAD 5 array. So my main questions are:

Does anyone here use striped drives?

Does striping the drives give a noticeable increase in speed?

Is striping the drive really worth it considering the extra cost, loss of storage space, and the potential of losing all three drives at once? Well I guess I wouldn't lose all three drives at once. Supposedly, the RAID5 array has some sort of redundancy so that if one goes, the data on the other two are intact.

Like I said before, CS2 will be my main use for this puter, so does everything else look OK? Anything else maybe I should be looking at or considering (NOT A MAC!)?

Thanks!
