I shot this last year, but I don't think I ever posted it. It's not the greatest photo, but still something you don't see everyday. My wife saw the female lay the eggs on one of our windows and we waited for them to hatch.

I like it. Nice to have a front row center seat!

That's an interesting sight. Metallic eggs and red bugs. Nice :)
I guess this is one of those shots you look back on and go "if only I..."
I think a green background would make an improvement. Try using a colour replace.

Thanks guys. I agree with you photobitz. Green, being the compliment to red does look nice. Thankfully these eggs were laid outside, so the brown background in the original is a product of shooting into the house through the window and picking up the tones of our dinette.

Nice shot - the green background does just that little bit more for the photo

I love the green one!
Question: If this were my picture I would start cloning out the dust on the window. It would make the picture cleaner. But maybe too clean? What would you do?

Thanks Dave, Brain, Dan and Marc. Good question Marc. I guess if I was going to frame it, I would definitely clean it up. If it were to be published as an "art" shot, then I'd clean it up too. As a technical piece for an insect publication I would leave the dust because it shows a truer environment.

Because I have lots of photos and little time, I left the dust. ;-)a
