I got back a little while ago from a camera dove hunt this afternoon/evening. It was really slow, but I did get a couple of shots that I'm kinda happy with.

Great inflight Mike. I was never so lucky trying to capture flying doves. They are very fast flyers. :)

Nice shots LD. You are really swinging that 500 around well!

#1 is a nice BIF, but #2 really has the colour and focus that is right on...the catchlight just adds to the sparkle of the photo. Nice work.

Mike, Kenny, Sindri, Mitch, Erik, Cooper911.....Thanks so much for the nice remarks. They are always very much appreciated.

Mitch....They are fast flyers, but we have enough of them around to where eventually get lucky. The percent of keepers shots is very, very tiny.

Kenny....Your absolutely right....they are not as fast as swallows......maybe that's the reason I can't get any good shots of swallows in flight.

Erik....I sure like the 500, but it is a hog of a lens for an old guy like me to swing around. I love to shoot with it off a tripod, but it seems that most of my shots end up being freehand shots, and when I finish shooting......I feel like I just got done working out at the gym.

Gary, Jim, Paul.....Thanks, guys.....I appreciate all the kind words. For me, it's pretty much, dove herons, and egrets. That's about all I have to shoot around these parts right now. The summer is does not offer near the opportunities that are available in the Winter and Fall.
