Are these effects post processing?

Well, there is this photographer name Jeremy Cowart that I have looked up to for quite some time now. You can view some of his photos here:

I was wondering if anyone can give me any tips as how to achieve those effects. Is it mostly post processing? Is it effects with filters/polarizers? ANy input would be great

Looks like Photoshop. Why don't you ask him? Post processing techniques vary widely among photographers.

Yes, they are effects but those effects were mostly achieve via creative use of lighting when the pictures were taken. The postprocessing done afterwards just put the finishing touches to the images but it's the lighting that really makes the images.
