I sold my 20D and looking @ buying the 30D body.
I am interested in a shutter release remote.
Will the RC-1 wireless remote work with the 30D ?

thanks,
Aaron

Or a Pocket Wizard which I think is much more versatile than the LC-5.

No. The only EOS dSLR the RC-1 works with is the XT/XTi (350D/400D).

What are the pluses to a pocket wizard type remote as opposed to a corded remote. other then being tied to the camera?

Sometime just the simple fact that you're not tied to the camera is plus enough to justify a wireless remote system.
