K i might be totally off my rocker here but I can't figure this out.

Ok I used to have the original Rebel 6.3mp etc, etc when i open one those JPEG's in photoshop CS3 the rulers show a size of 11.5" X 17"

Now i have a 30D i shoot RAW, lightroom to develop save as TIFF, when i open those photos in photoshop CS3 they show up as 7.75" X 11.5"

Why is the size so different? and it appears that when i zoom in 100% the Rebel shots look better where as the 30D shots start to pixelate already.

What am i missing here? Any help would be great!

The 30D is a full frame camera. I don't know what to tell you other than that unless I don't follow you.

30d isn't a full frame, its 1.6X crop same as rebel.

Ok it depends on how you convert the RAW file. If you convert and select say 180PPI the resulting image will be bigger for viewing in PS then if the PPI was set at 300PPI. The 30D is 3504X2336 divide each dimension by 300PPI the resulting image will be 11.68X7.79 where as if it was divide by 180PPI then it would be 19.47X12.98.
DRebel is 3072X2048 @300PPI=10.24X6.83 @180PPI=17.07X11.38

ahh ok i see what you're saying.... i checked the rebel image in photoshop (image, image size) and it's 180dpi

and the 30d ones i open are 300dpi..........

so that explains it i guess.

thanks,
