Dont shop there.........it is a grey market Item so you get the camera with no acceseries and no us warranty, theyll try and charge you $200 for the battery and even more for other accessories. but your g2 from a chain of stores (the wiz maybe)theyre alot more reliable, basicaly once you see a camera for 300 bicks lower then its standard price yoiur being scammed

I just bought G2 from jandr.com for \$725 including shipping. I did ask for a price match, I don't recall which of the many smaller stores I quoted. I shopped there before; they seem to be very reliable; they have 30-days satisfaction guaranteed. To me this seems to be a better deal than any of the ebay deals on new USA-G2.

if you do those lowest price shopping search engines, you will find tons of amazingly low prices... but as usual, it's just "too good to be true".

also note that most of those stores are in new york... so in many cases that's a good hint of the scam sites. and although i don't know for a fact, i think those are the shiny store front stores with lots of cameras in the windows intended to rip off tourists.

they pull of their scams in a few ways, one of which is to call you the day after you place your order, try to talk you into buying overpriced accessories, and if you refuse to, then they find an excuse to cancel your main order. but of course they do just enough legit sales to not be shut down.

also, some of the rating systems are corrupt, because i've come across message boards full of complaints, whereas the offical ratings comments were very positive.

I just purchased the powershot g2 from www.digitaletailer.com (external link) for a total of $634.95. Other than 1 annoying phone call from a salesperson trying to sell some accessories everything was fine. Camera got to me 6 days after I ordered it and was full retail boxed version with USA warranty. If it wasn't for the 1 sales call I would rate the experience a perfect 10. I believe this to be the cheapest you can get the retail version of the G2 on the net.

hope this helps.

I bought mine there. They took a couple days to get it out the door, but I got it for cheaper than anywhere else I've ever seen. They are NOT a scam site, but they are extremely high pressure sellers- they will probably call you up and try to pressure you into buying their high priced accessories. And contrary to what jimmy said, it is NOT grey market- it comes with a Canon US warranty.
