Best choice Wide Angle ?

Hello everyone,

I am looking for the wide angle lense ,this is my 3 choice :

Canon 17-40 F4L USM
Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 EX DC Macro .
Tamron 17-50 f/2.8

Can you tell me which one the best over all .

Although it's not on your list but I have heard nothing but great remarks from the Canon 10-22 lens. Thats on my next to buy list.

Neither are very wide on a 1.6x crop body. If you're looking for something in that focal length, the 17-55IS can't be beat... but the Tamron 17-50 is a good (far cheaper) alternative.

For a truly wide angle, look at the Canon 10-22, or Sigma 10-20.

That's Tamron 17-50 lens looking good so far ...So I will put it in my choice for now ,thanks for the advice .

The Canon 10-22 will be my next purchase. You can get them on eBay in the UK for about £390 new ($780) as opposed to £529 on Amazon.

You should get someone here get you one and have it shipped to you. You should save enough to at least get a hood for it if not more.

Buy it from Hong Kong on eBay - you'll get it even cheaper!

I've bought all my latest gear from Hong Kong without any problem at all...
