I have finally been out again to try some more near IR shots. Here are two i liked. Both have had Channel mixed processing plus some extra tweaking.
Comments welcome and appreciated.
Nic

Canon 350D ( Rebel Xt) with Hoya R72 Filter
Manual settings: ISO 400, 15 & 10 second exposures ( respectively) F/11
I realise the horizon is centred on the second image, and i had better composed shots from this position, but this was best overall as it had less lensflare.

Very nice results, Nic. On the first one I want to move the camera a little toward the right, bringing the peak of the roof to the edge of the photo, losing the vents and the rest of the cottage to the left and bringing the lighthouse off-center. Love the IR too.

Thanks guys:D

Marty, the previous day i did this shot and i did have more room to the right..it was a better comp as well, but it had lens flare round the lighthouse. This second attempt had no flare but the comp wasnt the same...i tried severl shots, moving slightly each time , but isnt it always the way.. the best isnt always the one we want? lol:rolleyes:
never mindd... just an escape for me this one.

Love the results - and I don't mind the roof vents of the first shot, since the lines of the image move you from left to right. I actually didn't notice them until I read coach's post.

First look I thought you had been down to the snow. Re the roof vents, its all part of the way that an Australian cottage is built, just wouldn't the same without.
Two nice pictures taken at?

Thanks for looking khall. These were taken at Norah Head on the N.S.W Coast. My Great granddaddy worked this light many years ago and my great uncle was born in that cottage.
