Well i went to my folks house to go eat 4th of July dinner ( ugh i feel fat now ) and My step mother has 3 horses.. Soo I was thinking of also getting into equestiran shooting to balance out my model shooting :P SOO Shadow their doggy was a good test subject to check some quick lighting I had with my two small speedlites, I snapped off 5 and then BANG BANG BANG BOOM some kids down the street starting shooting off fireworks early and he TOOK off barking up storm so that pretty much ruined my shoot for the dog and even the horses because shortly after that the rain come.. soo to make a long boring story even longer.... ok ill stop here is the silly set up shot i took of the doggy.. 17-70 sigma lens on a rebel xti body 580ex strobe bumped up +2 with a stoffen omnibounce on it shot at 17mm ( i love wide angle ) hmm i think f stop 11 shutter was about 100 i think, and yes i know the horizon line is a lil off but i feel it gives it a bit of depth like going back towards the picture... BUT if it REALLY irritates alot of people i shall fix it :p

I really like it! I love how the sky is overcast.. it gives a moody feel to the photo.

Every time someone tells me how sharp my photos are, I assume that it isn't a very interesting photograph. If it were, they would have more to say. ~Author Unknown

I love the flash set-up you use. Outstanding stuff
I have noticed it in a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work.

Nice lighting effect - and a beautiful dog to go with it. Great shot.

As always, whether person or animal you have great lighting (also, thanks for turning me on to the strobist blog) and a great shot

Only thing, I would have liked to see his feet...i feel it would have given it even more depth...

But of course, you never know until you see them side by side

Ya i thought about that after i took the camera inside.. but there were just wayy too many fireworks and distractions for him to stay still.. i was surprised i got him to sit there for that long for me to snap a couple pics :) theres always next time when i go to shoot the horses

I'm as big a fan as they come when it comes to your work, but I have to say, it was pretty refreshing to see something other than hot girls next to your patented stone columns. I really like the warmth in your shots combined with the dramatic lighting. Are you warming these in PS? Or are these pretty close to the RAW image?

I wish I could get into the glam post. I'd comment on your stuff more often. New to the post, I'm blocked at this time.
