4th of July Fireworks, Portland, Oregon

My second time shooting fireworks...I still have a lot to learn with timing...I used the Canon 20D camera and kit lens.

Your photos turned out very nicely... Were you at the Blues Festival? I was shooting from the east side of the Willamette River, more towards the Morrison Bridge. I admit, the barge was further south than I would have liked... but with the crowds, once you got your spot, you stayed there. Here are a couple that I got:

Those are some very nice pics, thanks. The water and boats add very nicely to the overall pic. I wish I had more time to pick a better shooting location. Your location looks great!

I was sitting at the south waterfront...near the new condos and Street Car line.

I used F11, "bulb" setting, ISO 100.

I activated shutter when the shell launches and close shutter when the burts was at maximum range
