I tried a search for this subject and couldn't find anything directly related.

I took a portrait in an indoors low light evening setting. It came out nice but i would like to remove a couple of pimples on the subjects face to make it a little better. I shot in RAW+JPEG.

I got DPP with my 30D and have read the PDF instruction manual but didn't find it very helpful. Also, a link to an online tutorial was given but I can't get it to work (I'm working on that). Also also, I can't find the latest update to DPP on the Canon web site. I go to the 30d link but theres nothing there.

I would apprecaite any help

Thanks

Click on "Drivers / Software"

You can use the stamp tool within DPP to remove spots/pimples/etc.

danpass,

Your link takes me to where I was. The only thing i see there is a firmware update for the camera and some other file but no DPP. Am I doing something stupid at the site? I have tried.

Thanks for your help

There is a little red triangle with "Drivers / Software next to it. Click on that.

That is all above the Firmware stuff.

It is a pop up window so you may have to hold the Ctrl key when clicking on that link or just disable the popups control for now.

Thanks danpass,

As I suspected I was doing something stupid by not disabling the popup blocker.

I now have DPP 3.0. Hopefully the accompanying manual will be a little better than 2.0

I've been trying Adobe Lightroom recently and the similarities between it and DPP 3.0 are amazing.

I have not been able to find a stamp/clone tool in Lightroom so I probably won't be forking out that money any time soon especially since DPP is free LOL.

Can't argue with DPP on price ;)

In the Develop module of LR the Toolbar underneath the displayed image has an icon that looks like 2 dots/points at a diagonal, linked by an arrowed line. If you don't see it, the right of the Toolbar has a dropdown menu where you can select what tools to see in the Toolbar.

It is a clone/stamp/healing tool all in one and is much sleeker than DPP's. My only misgiving is the size of the largest radius is smaller than that of DPP.

I don't mean to RTFM you :D but the Help docs are actually pretty good and I go to them quite often; they contain the full text of the User Guide (downloadable in pdf - 135 pages), plus there's live docs which is the same, plus more recent updated stuff as it gets added.

All the best.

I found DPP's manual to be of little help.
Invest the time to watch the helpful tutorials. They are essential for getting the most out of DPP.
