Canon 7D on it's way ???

if it's using the 1Ds sensor, then it sounds that like model is getting a renewal as well.

Ken Rockwell... who is he? Sounds like a right egocentric to me.

Anyway, I dont think canon are going to install a 3 year-old sensor in their new 'flagship' FF camera.

although my syntax is garbled, i took it to mean that the 1Ds will be getting an upgrade.

What is it in his article on obsolescence that you find so unconvincing? Seems to make a lot of sense to me.

And in In fairness to Ken Rockwell he did file his article on the 7D under "speculation". He knows his stuff though and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's mostly correct. I'm convinced that the replacement of the 5D will be known as the 7D. Nothing to base this on other than pure gut instinct.

Among other things: "Expect to throw away any $1000 digital camera in a two years simply because in those 2 years you'll be able to buy a much, much better and more convenient one for $239." Uhm... ok. Because obviously, when a better model comes out, my current camera stops taking good pictures. Rockwell has said many other quite ridiculous and outrageous things in the past, but I just can't be bothered to search through his site to find them again. People might go overboard in ridiculing him, but he's definitely done his part.
