Hi All,

now having owned and got used to using my first D SLR, a 350D, I am soon to be in the market for some photo-editing software, but I am a bit at a loss as to which system to use.

I have moved off the kit lens, and gone for a 70-200 f/4L, and a Sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5, and since getting better lenses, I have noticed the colours and clarity so much more.

It has to be PC, Windows XP, and not over the top, as I am not in need of the full works £500 system. I have been offered dodgy copies, but I do like to do it all legal, and I have no qualms about paying for a decent program. Also will it be able to run with Vista, should I upgrade:confused:

I have been shooting in RAW and using then Canon supplied software to do a few tweaks to some levels.

In all the camera mags they go on about all the different types of program, and I was just after a little info on the ones YOU actuallly use. The pros and cons of the software.

Adobe lightroom, Elements 4 and 5, seem to be the most common ones, something to tweak the pictures, edit them and also to save for the web, so I can post some of my efforts on POTN, but any information and tips will be so helpful, many thanks in advance
George

Photoshop elements 5 has got to be given serious consideration - It has many of the features of it's big brother Photoshop CS3 but costs about £60 in the high street, probably cheaper on-line. It has similar capabilities to Painshop pro XI but is more suited to digital photographs, in my opinion. Both are available on-line as 30 day trials and I would suggest you give each a try to see which you prefer.

I believe its bundled with Adobe Premiere3.0 for about £110 (on the UK Dell site at least).
