I am looking at the Canon Pixma Pro 9000 or the Epson R1800 both are in the same price range.

I need to buy tonight, my wifes gift to me if you know what I mean.

Haven't got one of these yet, just wondering if anyone has a recommendation I need to do 13x19 for sure.

Again I am looking at the Canon Pixma Pro 9000 or the Epson R1800 and plan to use it with LR and CS3

Any recommendations or issues?

R1800. Pigment ink is the way to go.

The printer with the best rating is the Canon Pixma Pro9500, After all my research this is the printer to go with.

I Have 3 Pro 9000's. I did a improvtu ink fade test with my 13x19 prints.. I printed 2 ident prints... I placed one on the dash of my truck in the direct sunlidght about a month. (face up) the other stayed in the house out of the harsh light.... There was 0 ink fade in my non scientific test....

If you go with the pro 9000 I think the canon semi gloss prints the best images

The printers are not such a big deal - it is all about the ink. The printer cost is incidental in the face of that.

That said, look at pigment inks and whatever you have to do to get them put on the paper. Dye inks just don't have the longevity or permanence. Dye looks great coming out of the printer, but it is all downhill from there.

I did quite a bit of homework too and I also decided that the Pro9500 will best fit my needs. I will purchase mine in 2 weeks.

If you decide to go with Epson, be sure and check out their website. They have their own refurb store where you can get a great deal on a printer. The link is http://www.epson.com …?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=0 (external link)

I just looked, and they have $200 off the retail price for the R1800.
