I was just wondering if there had ever been any consideration into splitting this sub-forum into some sort of age-defined categories.

A 0-18 and a 18+ for example.

I don't mean in a G&N type of way, just that I often come in here to check out people's ideas/treatments on adults, and then I usually wind up going through a lot of kids photos before finding what I'm looking for.

I understand that a lot of people want to see photos of kids, just as much as I want to see photos of adults - I was just wondering if there were any way to actually see specifically the model age that you're looking for?

I may be way off base here, so I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts...

Send a note to the moderators... ;) Good idea though... People is somewhat general, but then you would have to divide sports into football, soccer, hockey, etc...

I sort of agree, but in the titles of the threads in the sports forum, they usually let you know what's in the thread.

In the people forum, it tends to be along the lines of: "Photos I took of Kristy" - which is less informative :(

See, there are now a lot of people posting "People" shots into the G&N forum, which are neither Glam or Nude.

Yeah - they 'want the advice' of the glamour shooters so they can improve their techniques.

There seems to be an awful lot of them, too.

Just a question. How is moderators going to determine the age of the people on the photos in order to move the thread to the correct foum (I doubt I will be able to tell the difference between a 17 year old and 19 year old, how many can do that without)? And what if the photo has both adults and kids in it ? Then were should it go ?

How about a crummy, boring family snapshot section :-)

Seriously, kid shots can be good and adult shots can be bad ... all depends. Impossible to filter what is worth a look.

It's pretty easy actually - just make a guideline that people should put the age of their subject in the thread title. Much like the Sports section puts "Football - 8 shots" or "Baseball - my first outing with my new lens". That way the moderators don't have to do anything.

Guideline: Please describe the subject of the photo(s) in the thread title, and include the approx age (adults/kids/teens/mixed is sufficient).

Sure, I agree there are always going to be shots with more artistic merit than others - I wasn't advocating that some sort of nefarious "quality" standard be applied.
