Ok so I am trying to get my library cleaned up a little. I have several projects created with similar names or similar subjects. i.e. Downtown, or Sports etc.. but like I said, each is its own project.

I want to clean it up a little and make one Project, for example "City" and put all things realated to city into seperate albums within that project and then delete all the original projects that the new albums came from.

However when I do this and go to delete the original project which I have just moved the images from, it tells me that there are other projects or albums that reference these files and if I delete the project the album images will be lost as well.

I have tested this theory with some not so important images and sure enough when I delete the original project, I lose the images in the new album as well, even if I uncheck the delete referenced files check box.

Is there a way I can move images in projects into albums, delete the original project and keep the images in the new album as to clean up my list of projects?????

Hmm. Well, I've never done that before. What you can do, I'm pretty certain, is to shift/command-click to select your images within a project that you want to move into a new project, then choose File-> Export-> Export Master... to save the original files somewhere on your hard drive. Then you could create a new Project within Aperture and just import those saved images into the new Project.

I'm not at home, so I cannot test this, but I think it will work.

Did you get your hard drive issue resolved?

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

i've done that, and i do it all the time when i import projects from the laptop when i return from the road (and i havent put things into appropriate albums).

i do it in three steps, but it's not time consuming at all. basically, i create a new album in the destination project. i then move the file to the project. it will ask you if you want to move the master. lastly i do a shift-move from current album to the destination.

Keep the option Key pressed when you're moving the images(drag and drop)...I've done it from album to album and it worked great.
