Hi there

I have an unusual problem I need some advice on..
I have built several magnetic pulsers as shown in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H9shFbZllU (external link) Some excellent info on how it works is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ojCYulJ4-I (external link)
As you can see the flash is used to provide the power pulse to the coil.
My wife was diagnosed with tennis elbow, quite bad, due to to lifting groceries in her supermarket job. She was nearly in tears, which says a lot for her.
We were told that normally this can last up to six painful months.
I started using the pulser and within days the pain got less and in 6 days her pain has gone! It still is 2 weeks later!! Her physio therapist is quite baffled! :-)

I used a Nissin 360 gun for one and can't recall the other as I sent it to someone.

I bought a Canon 277T planning to do the same.
Unfortunately the unit is (I think) too smart to flash without being connected to a camera.
It gives the rapidly rising high pitch tone but the light does not come on. Pressing the 'test' button as found in the manual that came with it does nothing.
Could somebody please help me with this one??
All I want to do is being able to fire it stand alone at full output every time.

I tried it on my 35 year old Ricoh KR10 (do I dare mention this on a Canon site) but it won't flash on that..

Seeing what this has done for tennis elbow we are keen to try it on some kiwi's arthritis invested knee. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

It may have been covered, but it helps to understand how flashes evolved over time. The older ones had a sensor on the flash to measure light. The newer ones measured the light through the cameras lens (TTL). And the latest ones fire a pre-flash which is measured through the lens. If you put an older flash on a newer camera, it will default to 100% manual mode. If the flash has setting to adjust the power and/or has a built in sensor then you should be fine, but its all manual, you have to set the camera as well as the flash.
