Apple displays

I just called apple to find out a little more on specs for macpro and macbook
i know that the latter one has crappy glossy layer on the display and macpro gives you an option for anti-glare. I spoke to 3 different technical support representatives. They have no specs what so ever. Res., size and gloss or antiglare..that's all they have . This is ridicioulos, any other half-decent online retailer will give me contrast ratios, pixel pitch and all that on any display but it's hard to find anything for apple laptops. I don't even dream to find out what is the bit depth of those displays. Anyways obviosuly pro is better when it goes to CPU, RAM, Video card but i need something really compact . i am not planning to lag 15" display around, i have enough crap in my photobag, unless you can convince me that pro version has superior display performance. Did anyone has ever used both of them??? I know that both standalone displays and imac displays are just amazing, at least the way they look, color accuracy is different story but they do add a lot of 'punch' to the image. How it works with laptops though and specifiaclly how pro differes from macbook? THX!

imho the display of the pro blows the socks off the macbook

only ever used them for film editing and colour casting not photomanipulation tho

If there is an Apple store in the area, go and try them out to see what looks and works best for you.

Just to clarify - you mean the "Macbook Pro" and not the "Mac Pro"? The former is a laptop, the latter is a desktop. I have the Macbook and I don't particularly care about the glossy screen. It is fine to use so long as there are not reflections.
