I walked past this seriously abused phone that was scrolling asian characters in the Vietnamese part of town today. Had to shoot it. I'm REALLY liking ACR 4.1 for BW conversion. My actions are getting ignored these days.

Nice. Amazing contrast. I wish you had caught more asian characters scrolling by. Who would stick their credit card in that? I'd be afraid it would never come out. :)

Very nice gritty B&W conversion, well done. Would like to see more of the phone though, correct the perspective on the left side and I wanna read the text on the back board but can't make it out :-)

Did you shoot this in a B&W picture style and adjust in ACR or did you do it all in ACR? I don't have 4.1, CS2 only so just wondering.

I really like this shot, and really like this conversion.

Sorry for the noob question, but what is ACR 4.1?

Yep, did everything in RAW for this. Adjusted the colour sliders in grayscale until I got what I wanted. There is no perpsective to fix. Anyone standing there at about 5'10 will see the same perspective. To alter it would to unfix it. I like my shots to reflect what my eyes saw. Although colour blind, I don't see black and white. Hypocrite? :)

Oddly I thought that too. I didn't want to touch it and investigate...

very interesting and sort of yucky feeling at the same time (that's a good thing here--it's the mood I'm talking about )

Did you check the coin return?? :D

Adobe Camera Raw.

I've been using the Canon software to PP my RAW's...is 4.1 a standalone or compiled with CS3?

By looking at the photo, I wouldn't want to touch it. It screams GERMS all over it. Nice b&w conversion coming from RAW 4.1. Cheers!
