what i see is not what i get...

im having a hard time analysing images after a day's shoot. what i see in Adobe Photoshop, Canon Digital Photography Professional and WinXP's default picture/slide viewer are all different! whats worse is the prints which came fr my Canon printer appears slightly darker than what i see on my LCD monitor too. i think its the image down-sizing/fit-to-screen features which gives me diff pic quality, and what appears over-sharpened in one pic viewer looks fine in another picture viewer software. i know abt LCD screen caliberators like the Spyder/Huey but what abt printer caliberation? and can i do anything abt the slightly darker prints im getting? becos even shots which are correctly exposed appears slightly dark when printed on 4R size photo paper. or is it the paper size?

Could this be because you are using a different colourspace, and hence some can recognize the colour space embedded, and some can not. Generally, using AdobeRGB and printed in sRGB causes prints to be darker with a yellow/green tint.

hmm.. the colorspace thingy im not too sure. hey thanks for the link, that was a real quick detailed explanation! damn.. as tho dealing with metering/exposure/whit​e balance wasnt technical enough... now will have to deal with the intricacies of post-shooting/pre-printing procedures...
