Just got my first ever DSLR today, a brand new 30d and Tamrom 17x50 f2.8 XR DiII. Thought I would post a first pic. This is a raw file straight from the camera, no PP, converted to .jpg and resized in photoshop. I took the pic with the dial set to "M", set my aperture to f2.8, and adjusted the shutter speed and ISO so that it was exposed to the right slighty, by about a 1/3 stop or so. And it is still underexposed.
I stumbled on this sight a month or so ago and and fell in love with a lot of the shots I saw, and realized I could never get it with my Kodak DX7590 point and shoot cam. So my wife and I are blaming you folks on putting a dent in our bank account, LOL!
Anyway, glad to be on board here. I have a whole lot to learn about this camera and all things associated with photography. Hopefully it will be an enjoyable experience.
thanks, Randy
