To everyone who has done this or is thinking about doing it!!

You are not adjusting this properly if you are only adjusting one of the screws. The screws adjust both sides of the plane, (the left screw moves the left side, the right screw moves the right side) so if you only adjust one side to get perfect focus in the middle, the right and left sides will be focused front and back, respectively. They may be close enough to not really hurt the picture, but you should really take your test pictures offset to the left and right side of the frame to double check. I did this adjustment on my 1Dmk2 using both screws and test shots on both edges of the frame and it's dialed in perfectly now.

Sorry for dragging up this old thread. Anyone did this with the 500D? The reason I ask is because I can't find any screws inside it.

I thought you can micro focus adjust 500D with the onscreen camera menu just like the 5D2?

Don't think that the 500D was blessed with that feature. Sort of a shame as it's totally a software feature.

Thanks for the posting. I have the same issue, I will have to try this later this week. I will let you know how it goes for me. Looks like most of the time is in creating the tool...

This thread started almost three years ago.

A lot of the newer cameras have a micro adjust built in so you can fix minor focus issues with lenses.
Check your manual before you go turning screws in your camera.

1DMkIII, 50D, 1DsMkIII, 5DMkII, 7D, 1DMkIV, those are the only ones right now I believe.

Yes, but MrTown doesn't say which camera he does have.
Just wanted to save some aggravation if possible.

Or did you miss the fact that he didn't miss the MkIII? It's the first in his list.

Mark.
