That was exhausting! Two days of absolute chaos at the Tour de France - worst thing was the jobsworth stewards didn't seem to understand what a press pass was or, in fact, who was allowed where. Argh!

Anyway, a day of horrible sunlight and limited locations, but all comments welcome!

David Millar rode through a tunnel of support, but failed to deliver.

Ballan, like everyone else, was closely scrutinised by the public during his ride.

Good stuff Pete, great angles and super sharp!

I need to get some accreditation from somewhere for these sports events. Pain in the backside with kids jumping infront of you, I was at Hyde Park Corner then wandered to the start for the last lot!

:D Now those are some nice shots I love the 1st and 6th shot here, they look like they belong in magazines. They are all very nice. What lenses did you use on these shots?

Cheers, guys.

They were shot with a variety of lenses, ranging from a 17-40mm for 3, a 70-200 for 4 and 8 and a 300mm f2.8 for the rest.

I would really love to get a 300 or 400mm 2.8, but funds not avail yet. Soon I hope.

Cheers!

I love my 300 2.8 as it's so versitile for my needs, everything from basketball to Formula 1, it does the job!

Then again, I'd love a 400 2.8 and 600 f4 to add to the collection...

Love your series and am insanely jealous! I love the first shotthe best. The ever so slight lean looks like he is just going to go riding avross your frame. Great compostion and feel of movement. I hate u :)

great photos. wish I had got down there now, and the grand prix didn't turn out to be as good as what i thought (from tv). which lens out of two would you recommend, 300mm or 400mm f2.8, as I am going to rent one of them soon for a couple of pre-season friendlies and the touring car championship at snetterton

Loverly pics.. always a danger of every pic looking the same in a bike race.. but your diversity (spell?) wins the day.. makes for an interesting looking collection of quality pics... Nice one :)
