first attempt at pictures of people

these are my first attempt at decent pictures of people and my brother was my model ..he was less than impressed!

I'm probably not fully qualified to comment

but I thought you took too "old" of pictures. I don't know that there is anything such as age appropriate poses, but if there is - trying taking some that portray him a younger person.

His face in the last two is too dark and the poses look stiff. They are, however, a good start, and I'd encourage you to continue shooting.

I have to agree with MT about the "age appropriate" poses. There's just something about the last photo that makes me think he's a young member of the Corleone family in "The Godfather." That being said, I don't think they are bad shots. I've not tried photographing people, because I wouldn't know where to start. So, I encourage you, as Greg said, to continue shooting. It's a good start, I think.
