How long till its ready to take a picture? Do you guys think i could successfully shoot motocross pictures with it

It depends on the lens and a host of other factors. The Digital Rebel is not exactly the very best camera for fast action like this, but it ought to do the job for a good photographer. The buffer size is a limitation.

I use a 10D with 100-400L and the buffer is not an issue at all as I seldom take more then one image at a time. Just depends on the sort of images you are looking for. Before acquiring the MKII I used the 10D and did quite well -- Got a magazine cover -- so it can be done. I was just a bit picky when I chose my shots to always try and have room in the buffer in case a super action shot came available. defordphoto | Celebrating the art of photography®
