Thousand people were waiting outside The Lee Gardens to buy British designer Anya Hindmarch's bag in Hong Kong. Hundreds of whom had queued overnight. The asia limited edition I'm not a plastic bag sold or HK$120 (US$23). The bag selling only 2,000 in Hong Kong.

Well done photojournalistic set.

Re #3: I'm saddened to see that (some) Hong Kong people seem to have a blatant disrespect for their community. We get the same thing in the US and it tends to disgust me.
Re #8: Obviously the woman didn't want to be photographed. I would leave that out of the set since I don't see any photojournalistic value in the image.

i heard about these bags the other day, had no idea they were "this popular".

agreed that #8 should be removed. I don't like posting pictures of people that obviously don't want to be photographed.

What am I missing here? There are people lining up and waiting overnight to buy a $23 bag?

Nice to know idiots are everywhere around the world, not just in USA.

Interesting set of images. I recall some news comment made about this "bag" in that when it was sold in the UK it was not wrapped in anything - in keeping with its "green" credentials - but in China (mainland?) they had wrapped in in two layers of packaging ~ hmmmm, not so "green" :)

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Almost everyone lining up for it is planning to sell it afterwards on ebay or something. Go check it out on ebay.. the other day I saw an auction for the go up to $300. so they make a profit of $277 a bag.

You bet... when McDonalds opened in India, on day 1, there were queues of well heeled people stretching for a mile or two... I first thought McDonalds was giving away stuff for free....

Cheers
